How We Started Blogging with a Failure
I think many people look at Alex and I at our current level of success and think that we have some native skillset or creative abilities that have helped us get where we are today.
I’m here to tell you that we don’t drink some kind of special Koolaid that gives us magical powers to boost our confidence or help us succeed.
We are just like you. We had no idea what we were doing when we started our first blog. We had some hopes and dreams and we were pretty motivated to the cause.
But despite this motivation and willingness to do whatever it took, our first blog still flopped.
We created content that no one read and an awesome diet program that no one 1 person purchased. I know the diet program was awesome because we actually recycled and repackaged it and still successfully sell that same diet program today.
The product wasn’t the problem. We were the problem.
In this episode, Alex and I take a deeper dive into how we started blogging with a failure and the many lessons that we learned along the way.
TL;DR: Getting drunk off of mimosas and getting paid to put amateur photos of your dinner on the internet is harder than it looks.
In this episode, you will learn:
- Why our first blog ultimately failed
- The biggest mistakes that we made in the first few months of blogging
- Why it’s so incredibly important to build your audience before your product
- About the lamborghini boys and why you need to find the right people to follow
